Does coffee kill roaches?

The internet has several claims that coffee grounds can be used as a repellant for cockroaches. This has not been proven to be the case. Roaches seem to be neither attracted nor repelled by coffee. Caffeine contained in coffee will kill an insect if consumed in toxic amounts. However, it has never been scientifically documented and tested that common coffee grounds would produce the desired result of roach control.
