Yes

Is tent fumigation necessary?

Although there are other methods to combat drywood termites, a tent fumigation is by far the most successful because the gas gets everywhere. It doesn’t matter if we know where all the colonies are, because the gas gets everywhere.

What are the side effects of fumigation?

There are no side effects. Once the fumigant (gas) is gone, then there is no residual left.

How long should you stay out of house after fumigation?

Our company will check the gas levels to ensure the home is safe. Once you get the all clear, then it is safe to re-enter. Generally, on the 3rd day

Should you wash dishes after fumigation?

Nope. Vikane is a pure gas and cannot bond to surfaces, so there would be nothing to wash off. This goes for clothes as well.

Will fumigation kill spiders?

Yes.

How long does tent fumigation last?

The process is generally 3-days. Typically, we put the tent on the house on day 1. Day 2 we remove the home and let the home aerate and then day 3 return and check the gas levels to make sure there is nothing left.

Does fumigation ruin your stuff?

Nope, the fumigation will not ruin anything, however there is preparation that needs to happen prior to a fumigation.

How much does it cost to tent fumigate a house?

The cost of a fumigation totally depends on the size of the structure and is measured in Cubic Feet. Whether the home is on a crawl space or slab will also affect price, but generally you would be in the $1,000 -$2,500 range. We do offer financing.

Does fumigation kill mold?

I am not actually sure, but we have never been asked to treat a structure for mold. I do not believe it is an approved mold remediation method.

Tenting will kill virtually every type of bug that breathes, however if Florida the bulk of our fumigations are to combat drywood termites. Bed Bug fumigations are fairly common as well.

Do termites come back after tenting?

If you are in an area that has a lot of termites, than termites can return, however, it is our experience that this doesn’t happen all that often and your treatment comes with a warranty that can be renewed annually. Many people add an attic spray to add residual protection after a fumigation to get the best of both worlds.

How do you fumigate a house naturally?

By nature, a fumigation, requires a fumigant (ie chemical) to be introduced into the home, so there aren’t any “natural” fumigants I am aware of.

How long does it take for a cockroach to die after being sprayed?

Totally depends on the spray used. “Contact” insecticides like Raid will kill quickly, however, this is generally not good. If you kill quickly than you may only kill one insect. Insects are highly social, so the goal is to kill slowly, thus allowing the insect to pass the insecticide to many insects before they die.

Do roaches come back after extermination?

Most insects will return as these insects are naturally present in our environment. The goal is to keep the outside where they belong and kill them if they decide to try and come into our homes. This is why we recommend regular (4 x year) treatments to maintain a barrier of protection for your home.

Do you tent a house for cockroaches?

Sometimes. Drywood termites are the most common pest that we tent for, with bed bugs being second. However, every year we will tent some homes for cockroaches, rodents and powder post beetles.

How do I prepare my house for tent fumigation?

The company will go over all the preparations needed, however, the main two are the bagging of food and medicine into special bags we provide and rack back mulch or rock around the house so our tarps get a good seal. We offer fumigation preparation service if the home owner is unable to perform the preparation.

It sure does. Almost anything living will not survive a tent fumigation. However you might want to check first because dead animals can be messy and smelly to clean up.
