Do Termites Bite Humans?

Do termites bite humans?

Termites do not typically bite humans. While they have strong mandibles to chew through wood & plant material, they are not aggressive toward people & don’t pose a direct threat through biting.

Why You Don’t Need to Worry About Termite Bites…

  • Non-aggressive nature – Termites are shy, wood-feeding insects focused on their colony, not attacking humans.

  • Rare bites –In extremely rare cases, a soldier termite might pinch skin if directly handled, but it’s not dangerous & usually doesn’t break the skin.

  • No venom or disease – Termites don’t carry venom or transmit diseases to humans like some other pests.

While they don’t bite people, termites can cause serious structural damage to homes over time. Their feeding habits can go unnoticed for months or years, weakening wood and leading to costly repairs.
