Cockroaches will typically not leave a clean house. The roaches came there in the first place for some reason, maybe shelter, maybe water. Once they are established, they are very good at surviving. I would look for moisture problems or leaky pipes. Cockroaches need water more then they need food. Although cleanliness and sanitation is a very important step in eliminating roaches, it will not do the trick alone.
